Lockpicking is a crucial skill in Skyrim. While it’s pretty much against the law, you’ll be relying heavily on this skill for certain quests and dungeons. Not only can you use it to gain access to restricted locations, but you can also find items inside hidden rooms and chests.
Misleading title to bring this to your attention ftw :) (it's not actually gopher's list but it is based on video(s) by gopher)
This was posted 1 day ago on reddit. I shamelessly copy it here. The list is more applicable to SR users than to STEP so therefore I post it in this sub-forum. https://www.reddit.c..ell_with_skyre/ I recently found a lets-play by GophersVids where he was using a number of mods including SkyRe. This Skyrim mod, Remember Lockpick Angle, makes it easier to pick locks by remembering the last successful lockpicking angle you did. That way, you won’t have to fiddle around with your lockpick too much.
There could be a big chance that the next door or chest you’re trying to open might have the same combination as the last one. However, it’s worth noting that not all locks have the same combination, so you might still need to tweak your lockpicks ever so slightly.
Lockpick SmithingBest Skyrim Mods of March 2019
Keeping in line with our first Skyrim mod, this lockpicking mod is perfect for those who don’t have a knack at unlocking doors and chests. Everyone’s broken their fair share of lockpicks, and you can’t pick any locks without it. If you find yourself low on supplies, you can try this Lockpick Smithing mod.
As the name implies, you’ll finally be able to create your own set of lockpicks. You won’t need to buy them from vendors or steal them from dungeons anymore.
One iron bar provides up to a whopping 100 lockpicks, so you’re pretty much set for your main adventure with this supply. Best of all, you can start making your lockpicks at the nearest forge.
Ore and Ingot VendorBest Skyrim Mods of March 2019
Skyrim has a ton of ores and ingots you can mine, which are used to craft or enhance your weapons. There’s no real easy way to get them since you’ll need to put your back into mining these precious minerals. If you’re not too keen on spending your time picking at rocks, you can add an ore and ingot vendor in the game.
This simple Skyrim mod places a vendor outside of Warmaidens in Whiterun. You can easily travel there and purchase any materials you’ve been missing instead of having to trot to the nearest mine. Since the vendor sells ingots, you won’t even need to smith them now either.
It’s a convenient mod that should have already been part of the base game, considering how there’s a shop for most of the materials in Skyrim.
Simple Scoped CrossbowBest Skyrim Mods of March 2019
The crossbow is one of the more niche weapons in Skyrim. It’s the closest thing we’ll get to an actual firearm, but it also acts as a bow. The reload speed is what really kills the weapon, but it’s still pretty fun to use and packs quite a punch.
If you love using crossbows in Skyrim, this mod will make it easier to aim at your foes. Simple Scoped Crossbow mounts a tiny scope above your crossbow, letting you aim with more precision. Fallout new vegas ncr rearmament.
It’s worth noting, however, that the mod doesn’t actually change the weapon nor does it zoom in on your foes. All it does is add an extra reticle for aiming, which still makes a big difference during combat.
Faster Weapon SwingsBest Skyrim Mods of March 2019
Each weapon has its own swing time, giving your enemy a chance to strike when you’ve missed your attack. It’s especially risky for those who love using two-handed weapons, as the swing speed bogs down your character. If the swing speed feels a bit slow for you, this mod is right up your alley.
Faster Weapon Swings pretty much does what it says, letting you speed up your weapon speed for both one-handed and two-handed weapons. Apart from tinkering with your own speed, you can also change how fast or slow your enemies can attack. This is a great mod for beginners who still haven’t grasped Skyrim’s combat just yet.

One thing that I always found strange on the lockpicking system is how the heck all locks have the exact same way of working, and even the same appearance, like, the dwemer were so evolved that they used the same locks the nords use nowadays? That falmer chests have such an alien look, but when you try to unlock it, suddenly you see a nord lock in front of you. Even the ancient nords used the same locks. I know it must be hard to change the system, but isn't there a way of changing the appearance of the locks of different types of chests? It gets pretty unimmersive seeing the same lock all over the game

Lockpicking is a skill that allows you to access most locked rooms and containers, or to disarm certain traps, without their corresponding keys. The Lockpicking skill tree has a total of 11 perks, requiring a total of 11 perk points to fill.
In-game Description: The art of lockpicking is used to open locked doors and containers faster and with fewer broken lockpicks.
Skill Perks[edit]
Novice Locks
Apprentice Locks
Adept Locks
Expert Locks
Locksmith
Unbreakable
Master Locks
Golden Touch
Treasure Hunter
Quick Hands
Wax Key
†Golden Touch adds 20-100 gold to generic dungeon chests and 2-10 gold to many types of dead bodies (old or new), urns, and various other containers.
‡Treasure Hunter increases the chance of finding 1 extra weapon or armor item (possibly enchanted) in many generic dungeon chests from 10% to 15%.
Skill Usage[edit]
When you target a lock/trap that you don't have the key for, but that can be picked, a tooltip bubble ('Unlock (object or location)') will indicate its difficulty level on a scale from 'Novice' to 'Master'. If you have at least one lockpick in your inventory, interacting with your target will activate the lockpicking interface. The lockpicking interface shows a dagger for turning the lock, and a lockpick for disarming the locking mechanism. Your objective is to place the lockpick on the correct position in a 180 degree arc. Only then can you fully turn the lock to open it. Trying to turn the lock with the lockpick in an incorrect position will result in the lock refusing to open and in permanent damage to your lockpick.
Picking the lock successfully requires a certain degree of trial and error. Successful strategies to reduce the number of lockpicks broken may make use of the following facts:
Skyrim Se Lockpick Mod Minecraft
The challenge of the lock is inversely related to the size of the tolerance zone. A larger zone makes it easier to find and allows more leeway before the pick breaks. The size of the tolerance zone is increased by your lockpicking skill and any active bonuses (granted by perks, suitably enchanted gear or potions). It is decreased by the difficulty rating of the lock. It is therefore possible to pick a 'Master' level lock with a low lockpicking skill, but you will probably break more lockpicks to get it open.
Skill Increases[edit]
Experience is given when you successfully pick a lock for the first time and when you break a lockpick. If you break a lockpick, a small amount of experience is given, enhanced by the Thief Stone and other XP bonus. If you successfully pick the lock, the experience gained is based on the difficulty of the lock (harder locks give more XP) and whether you have the Thief Stone activated.
Leveling lockpicking 'on the go' is perfectly viable. If you wish to speed up your advancement in lockpicking at the expense of a little time, you can refrain from looting/pickpocketing most keys and pick their locks instead, with little to no impact on the rest of the game.
Free after effects templates intro. Should you wish to power-level lockpicking (e.g., to quickly gain access to specific perks in its skill tree), you can intentionally and repeatedly break your lockpick in a lock. For this tactic, a lock that does not open on the default, vertical position is preferred, and requires either a large amount of lockpicks in your inventory, or the Skeleton Key which is obtained at a late stage in the Thieves Guild storyline and does not break per se (but failed attempts still count for the purpose of gaining experience). As a note, be sure to be well-rested and have the Thief Stone activated.
